EFI Advanced
Evans Performance Academy EFI Advanced course is intended for the student that has some EFI experience or has taken our EFI Basics course. Whether you have poked around tuning software and have the general idea of what's going on, or have done some basic tuning but want to have a better grasp on more advanced concepts, we have you covered! EFI Advanced will cover engine concepts such as volumetric efficiency, exhaust scavenging, camshaft designs, static and dynamic compression, spark knock, and exhaust pressure. The course dives into tuning strategies for naturally aspirated and forced induction applications. Advanced tuning concepts such as knock control, PID-based control, staged fuel injection, fail-safe protection, and traction control will be covered. Key concepts such as fuel injector characterization data, ignition coil dwell, load compensation, and advanced sensor calibration will also be taught. Lastly, we will delve into troubleshooting & diagnostics in a racing application and cover what to data log and how to read data logs for tuning and troubleshooting purposes. Students taking the EFI Advanced course will have a solid understanding of how an engine functions and the effect of performance parts on its operation. The EFI Advanced course will prepare the student for taking additional advanced courses from Evans Performance Academy. In addition, students will have the confidence to properly calibrate an aftermarket EFI system.
